Job Summary/Basic Function:


This position is responsible for assisting with the management of the college’s Facilities operations, including construction, building maintenance, custodial maintenance, grounds maintenance, mail room, central receiving, and safety management.


• Assist the Director of Facilities in establishing and implementing policies and procedures for department operation, standards of performance and productivity, a preventive maintenance program, quality assurance and safety programs, establish staffing needs, analyze problems and system failures and develop and implement corrective actions.
• Manage the computerized maintenance management system
• Maintain and organizes building, utilities, and vehicle records; Serve as a contact person for 811.
• Write construction and equipment specifications.
• Serves as project manager for assigned campus construction projects.
• Assist in compiling and transmitting detailed reports on facilities assets and operations to the University System.
• Maintain campus maps, plans and specifications.
• Manage the campus vehicle fleet and fuel usage.
• Ensure the proper operation of campus life safety systems.
• Develop and supervise service contracts for building services.
• Oversee department information management software systems and train Facilities’ staff members.
• Monitor, review, and implement energy management systems.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• The work consists of varied management and supervisory duties. The variety of operations to be managed contributes to the complexity of the position.
• The purpose of this position is to assist in directing the college’s facilities maintenance, operations, planning, design and construction operations. Success in this position results in the provision of safe, attractive, and efficient facilities for all college operations.

Minimum Qualifications:


• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
• Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department in order to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, usually interpreted to require five years of related experience.
