Job Summary/Basic Function:

JOB PURPOSE:
Assist the Nurse Practitioner with student sign-in to the clinic and other non-clinical tasks, assist students with making appointments to see Nurse Practitioner using Microsoft Outlook, answer clinic telephone.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient medical records.
• Welcome patients to clinic.
• Make appointments for patients and monitor patients coming in to clinic and insure that they sign in for services.
• File patient charts; operate computer, FAX machine, copier and other office equipment accurately.
• Answer clinic telephone and take messages or direct call to the appropriate number.
• Record Student ID numbers and distribute free condoms to students upon request.
• Maintain clinic forms as directed by Nurse Practitioner.
• Deliver forms and documents to other departments on campus as directed by Nurse Practitioner.
• Restock supplies as directed by Nurse Practitioner.
• Complete and pass on-line HIPAA training
• Follow all safety and other risk management policies in performance of work.
• Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requirements
• Must have GPA of 2.5 or higher.
• Must be enrolled in at least 6 academic credit hours.
• Must be responsible and dependable.
• Must exhibit positive attitude.
• Will wear appropriate attire during work hours.
• Prior experience with scheduling in Microsoft Outlook preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Must be responsible and dependable, exhibit a positive attitude and work closely and effectively with Nurse Practitioner.
